  1. So good to see posts here again! I also learned on a treadle with my grandmother. I sewed my first historical costume on it. I was dumb at one point in my life and sold the thing. Big regrets over that! I later inherited a newer one from my father who rescued it from the side of the road I think. One day I plan to sew a costume on it.

  2. My aunt who is now nearly 97 years old still sews on her treadle machine. She has made dozens of wedding dresses, bridesmaids’ dresses and even tailored suits for men and boys. Unfortunately, arthritis in her hands makes it difficult to thread the needle these days.
